After finishing these years of full-time education, they can attend colleges or other further education institutions.

If you walk the streets of any country in Britain you will meet people from all over the world. You will find people with different hair colours, mixed with different skin and eye colours. The people of Britain is a very mixed race and the culture there is a great mix, influenced by all the religions and beliefs the immigrants has brought with them.
Even though most people in Britain are English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish, the British population has always been a mixed race. Britain was early invaded by Romans, Saxons, the Vikings and the Normans. All of these made a huge impact on both language and beliefs. Later in the late 1800s and early 1900 Britain was on its peak of power and ruled over one quarter of the world. During this period many Africans were brought to Britain to work as slaves or servants.

    ...
The Pursuit of Happiness is a film based on the main character, Chris Gardner, and his struggle with homelessness. His job is selling bone-density scanners to doctors. Unfortunately the sale of scanners goes badly which financially crushes the family. In result of that his wife, Linda, leaves with their son, Christopher, and moves to New York. Later, when Chris is at work trying to sell scanners, he meets the manager for the company Dean Witter and impresses him with solving a Rubik’s cube during a short cab ride. But Chris didn’t have enough money to pay for the cab ride, so he flees away from the cab driver into a subway station, and loses a bone scanner during the runaway. This new relationship with the Dean Witter manager earns him the chance to become an intern stockbroker. He gets a place to live and is wealthier than earlier. But one day Chris found out he had many unpaid taxes. This led to homelessness again, and Chris and his son needed to stay at a bathroom on a subway station for a while. Later Chris finds a Church that helped single mothers and fathers and stays there for some time. One day he found his lost bone scanner and repairs it. As a result of the hard work and fighting for survival he was offered a position that 19 competitors were fighting for. Chris Gardner became successful.
This film presents one of the American values in a good way. Individualism. Chris Gardner starts with being homeless and ends up having a great job and a good life, all because of his individual working and struggling. The Pursuit of Happiness is a film that shows us life for many American citizens. To be poor, to struggle every day, but to keep believing that one day things will change.
The message of this film is of course individualism and to never give in.

After World War Two Britain lost its power status and was not able to hold on to the colonies. In 1974 India and Pakistan demanded and gain their independence. This caused a ''domino effect'' on the other colonies and in 1997 the last colonie, Hong Kong, got their independence as well. This decolonization process was a very peaceful process, so there was no ''hard feelings'' towards each other. Actually people from the former colonies started to move to Britain voluntary so they could get a job and make a living out of it.
All of these things has contributed to make Britain what it is today. Britain today consists of about five million non-whites. You are most likely to find most immigrants in the bigger cities, such as London for example. In London alone fifty percent of the non-whites population are settled. As a result of that is that a quart (25%) of the population in London are from minority ethnic groups. This number is hight if you compare it to the national average witch is around 8 percent.
